Our 3 years old kindergarten program offers flexible options to support the diverse needs of families. We provide a full-year program that runs continuously across the calendar year, ensuring consistency and routine for children. In addition, we offer sessional kindergarten options that operate during the Victorian school terms, giving families the choice to select the structure that suits their child's learning journey.
The 3 year old Kindergarten program runs during school terms, is fully government-funded, and led by a bachelor-qualified teacher registered with the Victorian Institute of Teaching.
The 3–4 Pre-Kindergarten Learning Environment aims to nurture a love of learning that prepares children for their Pre-school journey.
Educators implement the Victorian Early Years Learning Framework (VEYLF) to ensure each child’s interests, abilities, and strengths are supported and extended.
Throughout the year, children engage in learning experiences guided by their curiosities, encouraging growth across a range of developmental areas. Educators foster independence and communication skills through interest-based, intentional teaching and play-based opportunities, supporting children as they socialise, make decisions, and solve problems with peers.
Children enjoy the freedom of an indoor/outdoor learning environment each day (weather permitting), which allows them to explore, create, and strengthen both fine and gross motor skills in meaningful ways.
Omaroo Learning Environment focuses on encouraging a love of learning that will prepare children for their Kindergarten year. To ensure that each individual child’s interests and abilities are catered for, the Educators follow the Government Guidelines by implementing the “Early Years Framework” (EYLF). During the year we focus on a number of learning areas based on the child’s interests, which are extended to enhance individual learning.
Educators support and encourage each child to develop independence and communication skills at every opportunity. This support and encouragement is displayed through play experiences where the children socialise with their peers, developing language in decision making and problem solving.
The children are offered an Indoor / Outdoor environment of their choice daily. (Weather permitting) This enables each child to expand and develop both their fine and gross motor skills throughout their day.
At Kids Own ECLC, we offer enriching government-funded Kindergarten programs for both 3 and 4 year old children. Our curriculum has a strong focus on school readiness, life skills, well-being, and fostering a lifelong love of learning. Children enjoy a range of inclusive and engaging programs such as science discovery sessions, phonetic literacy groups, creative arts, and many more experiences that spark curiosity and joy. Please do not send toys, jewellery, or any other treasures from home with your child, as they may be at risk of being misplaced or broken. We ask that all items brought into Kids Own ECLC are clearly named.
Please ensure that the following items are packed in your child's bag:
All your child’s belongings need to be sent in a suitable bag for safe keeping. Back pack bag style is recommended.
Hats must be worn outside at all times, broad brimmed or legionnaire style. Kids Own Early Childhood Learning Centre policy is “no hat, no outdoor play”.
A water drink bottle.
Young children in this age group require a full set of spare clothing clearly named.
